Ok well I have an HDTV in my room which I play xbox 360 on. There are so many options in regards to which input to use. I can use HDMI, VGA, or Component. Right now, the cords I have hooked up are for teh Component input but I can get the necessary cords if needed. My goal is to have my xbox on my tv and beable to connect my audio cords to my stereo. Which input provides the best HD quality?

I go to college and I need something for my dorm room. I want a flat screen and our rooms get basic cable. What would be my issues with buying an HDTV and having no HD ordered through the cable company? Does it still work? Bad sound/picture quality?
Just wondering. Any info would help, thanks!

I just built a media PC for my 65″ 1080p HDTV and I want the best performance for watching movies online and streaming video at full size. I installed a NVIDIA nForce 630i/7100 motherboard with an on board video card, What is the best video card for my setup or is this sufficient?

Does anyone have a hdtv hooked up to cable without a hdef dig box who is seeing his/her channels in hdef resolution? I was under the impression that you would have to have a hd dig box from the cable company to see hd resolution if you are receiving the signals thru the cable, not thru an antenna. Thanks!

Hi there. I will buy tomorrow Sony HDTV with a Sony home theater system and PS3. I also have a cable box (NOT HD) at home that I’ll be using. So, I would like to know what cables should I use and how should I hook it up (from what to what). I’ll be using PS3 as a DVD player but I’d like to connect it to my home theater system. I’d like also to connect cable box directly to TV. Please help.

My PS3 was set up to work on an HDTV but not i’d like to move it to a regular TV as odd as that sounds. When i hook it up to the normal tv it doesn’t work because it’s in HD mode or something. Apparently i have to change it while its hooked up to the HDTV to work on a normal tv. Does anyone know how to do that?

Here is what I have to work with:

1. HDTV with one HDMI input
2. Cable box (DVR built in) with one HDMI out
3. Upconverting DVD player/recorder - with HDMI out

Each piece has additional standard inputs and outputs.

I want to ensure I have the best quality HD picture, along with the ability to record off my DVR to my DVD recorder.

What would be the best way to hook this up without having to invest in more equipment? I am willing to buy the cables needed, but not an AV receiver or some “other” type of gadget.

Help help.
