HDTV Reviews & HDTV Information|Let’s talk about HDTVs
I have a Toshiba HDTV that has one RF Input. I have cable (without a box) and an HDTV Antenna for picking up local HD stations. Right now I have to physically disconnect the cable to watch Local HD and vice versa. How can I have both connected and just switch it with the TV input selector?
I’m looking into purchasing a 50″ HDTV but I can’t make up my mind on which one to purchase. The rear projection tv is a lot cheaper in price but I’m afraid I won’t get the quality picture. Any suggestions will be helpful.
I just purchased my first HDTV its a 32″ Vizio 1080p, I am trying to a good but not so expensive speaker system for it because the sound seriously is limited. Can anyone suggest a speaker system between $100-$300? It would be very appreciated.
My dad wants to by the top of the line hdtv. He doesn’t care about the price at all. I just want to help him pick the right one. He wants no other tv to beat his. I was looking at a Sony 60″ dlp. I really like Sony, and I believe it will be the right brand, since Sony is usually far beyond any other company. I need the right tv though.
I can get video no problem. But I can’t get sound. I tried connecting a male-to-male audio stereo cable from my headset plug in my computer to my HDTV’s audio input for PC. That didn’t work. Any suggestions? Please be specific on the type of cord to use. Thanks.
Are the standard cables that Comcast supplies for their HDTV converter boxes good enough instead of investing in gold tipped cables? Which cables are best for quality and price?
Ok, I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 Laptop running WinXP, and a Samsung HDTV. I have a VGA cable that I am trying to use to connect my laptop to the TV So I can show pictures to my family from my laptop. The Problem is, whenever I plug the VGA cable into the laptop and the other end into the HDTV, when I go to the PC source, It either says “Mode Not Available”, or when it is done “Searching for Signals”, i just blacks out.
What I really need is “HDTV Buying for Dummies” (smile) or a good online glossary so that I can understand all of the different technical terms and functions related to the new LCD televisions, and how these things relate to me as a buyer. Things have gotten very complicated over the last decade. Thanks.
